A police force has issued an appeal after receiving reports of several sports cars being driven dangerously on a motorway.

Essex Police said it was alerted to several brightly-coloured sports cars - which were believed to be Lamborghinis - coming to a complete stop on the northbound carriageway of the M11, just before the junction 5 exit to Loughton, Essex.

The force said the road was very busy at the time and several concerned motorists reported the incident.

Sgt Will Willsher, from the force, said: “This is extremely dangerous driving and we are investigating this incident."

He appealed to any witnesses who had details of the cars involved or dash cam footage to contact the police.
