Two 5G phone masts in west Belfast have been targeted by arsonists within the past 24 hours.

Police received a report at 22:00 BST on Tuesday that a 5G phone mast was on fire in the Stewartstown Road area.

A further report was received at 00:55 BST on Wednesday that a second mast had been set alight beside the Monagh by-pass.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fires.

Det Insp McDonnell said police are investigating a potential link between these incidents and another arson attack on Tuesday.

Police were alerted at about 01:20 BST on Tuesday to an arson attack on two masts on the Springfield Road.

Police are appealing to witnesses to any of these incidents to contact them.
