Thief's festive loot cracks suspected robbery case

A thief caught stealing Christmas crackers was wanted on suspicion of other thefts

Police cracked the case of a suspected robber after he was caught pinching Christmas crackers.

Thames Valley Police said they were called on Monday afternoon to reports of a shoplifter at John Lewis in centre:mk in Milton Keynes.

Store staff detained a man after noticing he had pocketed a festive haul of three Christmas crackers.

Officers arrived and discovered the man was wanted on suspicion of theft and robbery and took him into custody while inquires continued, the force said.
