Three arrested after High Street stabbing reports

Three people have been arrested following reports of a 17-year-old boy being stabbed.

Humberside Police was called to High Street, Scunthorpe, at about 13:30 BST on Wednesday.

The boy, who was taken to hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life threatening, was one of those arrested, on suspicion of breach of bail.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and a 16-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

Insp Katie Call said: "I understand an incident of this nature will be concerning for the local community.

"However, I want to offer my reassurance that we believe this to be an incident between individuals known to each other."
