Fewer jobseekers without work, report shows

The number of jobseekers without work has dropped by 10 in one month, a new report has revealed.

Statistics published quarterly in June by Work Support showed the total number was 254, an increase of 50 compared to the same period in 2024.

The number of jobseekers with some work increased by one from May to June, to 106 people.

There were 59 people on training schemes - seven people on Kickstart, 30 on Work2Benefit, and 22 on other schemes.

The figures showed during the month of June, 59 jobseekers made new claims for unemployment benefit and or income support.

This was an increase from 47 the previous month and 14 during the same month last year.

The Job Centre promoted 208 adverts in June on its website, the data showed, compared to 292 in June 2024.

The number of jobseekers in Alderney with no work was six, which was the same as the previous month and an increase from four last year.

Additionally, there were two jobseekers that had some work during the week.
