Lane closures as major road to get spring clean
- Published
Night-time closures will be in place on a major road while it gets a spring clean.
The essential work is taking place on the A338 Spur Road between Ashley Heath and Bournemouth in Dorset.
Litter picking, general repairs and bridge inspections will be carried out by Dorset Council.
Lanes will be shut overnight from Monday to Thursday between 21:00 and 06:00 BST.
Taking place over four nights, the work will involve road sweeping, grass cutting and gulley clearing.
Repairs will also be made to the safety fence, sound-reducing barriers and carriageway, the authority added.
Lane closures will be in place on the southbound carriageway on Monday and Tuesday.
Maintenance will then be carried out on the northbound carriageway on Wednesday and Thursday, with further lanes shut.
The closures will take place at night-time in order to keep disruption to a minimum, Dorset Council said.
Motorists have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys, especially if they are travelling to Bournemouth Airport for a late night or early morning flight.
