Hundreds attend funeral for minibus crash boys

Members of the Ghanaian community and school friends attended the boys' funeral

Hundred of people have attended a funeral for two boys who were killed in a minibus crash on the M4.

Nineteen people were injured when the minibus overturned on the link road from junction 10 of the M4 to the A329(M) near Reading, Berkshire, on 11 May.

Six-year-old Kwaku Frimpong died in the incident and 11-year-old Othniel Adoma died three weeks later.

Members of the Ghanaian community, school friends and football teammates attended the service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bracknell on Friday.

Chrissy Wort, deputy head at Wildridings Primary School in Bracknell, said the younger boy was "full of life, colour and adventure".

She said: "There was never a day where we would not have an anecdote of what he'd said or done that day.

"Both Kwaku and Othniel, they've just united the community and I think the outpouring of love and support for the families that we've seen today has been wonderful."

Camilla Douglas, headteacher at Brakenhale School, remembered Othniel as "incredibly kind and charismatic".

She said: "He had a beautifully infectious laugh. He was very, very loved by all of our staff and students.

"It's incredibly sad to have lost such a bright star."

Five other children were injured in the crash but were later discharged from hospital, Thames Valley Police said in June.

The force said no arrests had been made so far.
