A man who stole a handbag, a cigarette case and a mirror has been jailed for two years and six months.

James Doran, 24, pleaded guilty to burgling an address in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, on 30 August 2024.

Police previously said the defendant, of Kidlington, Oxfordshire, was arrested following an alleged rape in Banbury on 11 August.

However, Oxford Crown Court was told two charges of rape and a charge of detaining a child had been dropped because of a lack of evidence.
