Post Office set to relocate to convenience store
- Published
Post Office is to close its Goldthorpe branch, and has proposed moving to a local convenience store.
It said the current postmaster had resigned and the premises on Market Street would be withdrawn for use.
A new service would launch at Best Store on Doncaster Road, and would open for 97 hours a week - 73 hours more than the current part-time service.
A public consultation on the plan closes at the end of February.
Post Office said the new branch would be open from 07:00 to 21:00 Monday to Saturday, and 08:00 to 21:00 on Sunday.
There would be two serving positions at the retail counter of the store, and time-restricted parking outside, including disabled parking.
It said the new facility would not offer on-demand travel insurance, vehicle tax or the Passport Check and Send service.
