A senior police officer is being investigated for potential gross misconduct, a watchdog has confirmed.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has launched an investigation concerning an officer with Suffolk Police.
It comes after the force confirmed it had made a voluntary conduct referral on 13 June.
The officer is alleged to have deliberately misled or provided false information during a vetting interview, the IOPC said.
"We can confirm, as part of our ongoing investigation into a senior Suffolk Constabulary officer," a spokesperson for the IOPC said.
"We have served a notice informing them they are being investigated for potential gross misconduct.
"The serving of a conduct notice does not necessarily mean disciplinary proceedings will follow.
"At the end of our investigation, we will decide whether any individuals should face disciplinary proceedings."
