A driver has been seriously injured after a collision with an unmarked police car.

The crash happened on the A1000 Great North Road in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, at about 14:18 BST on Monday.

A blue Volvo V60 – being driven by officers from the British Transport Police - collided with a blue Honda Jazz at the junction of Oxlease Drive.

Emergency services were sent to the incident.

Hertfordshire Police said the Honda's driver, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the officer driving the Volvo suffered minor injuries.
