A 75-year-old woman was killed as she was hit by a lorry in Surrey, police have said.

Officers were called to reports of an HGV crashing into a pedestrian in Worplesdon Road, Guildford, at about 09:00 GMT on Tuesday.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her next of kin has been informed, police said.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, which happened near the Aldershot Road junction, is urged to contact the force.
