The son of a missing 80-year-old man said the "not knowing" was the worst part as police hunt for him.

Brian Horide, from Beccles, Suffolk, was last seen on Tuesday between about 10:45 BST and 11:15 in the Northgate area of the town after heading out for a walk.

His son Mark Horide, 60, from Plymouth, said the family was "very concerned".

"It's totally out of character - it's not something he's ever done before," he said.

Mark Horide urged anyone with information to help the police's search

"He's independent and for an 80-year-old man he's actually quite active and agile."

Mr Horide Jr said that in the 61 years his parents had been married, they had never been apart and relied on each other.

"We are very concerned and it's a very upsetting time," he added.

"The not knowing is the bit that pulls everyone apart."
