Eight meetings to keep people up to date with the progress of a major new seaside attraction are to be held.

The team behind the Morecambe Eden Project will meet with local people to discuss how the scheme is developing.

The attraction, which will focus on the environment and sustainability and will include three large biomes on the Morecambe seafront, is expected to open in 2027.

The first conversation session is set to be held on 4 June.

They will follow the Rhythm Maker events, to which hundreds turned out to learn about the key themes of the project.

The sessions will be held on the first Tuesday of every month and will be a mixture of online and in-person events, continuing through to January 2025.

Si Bellamy, Eden Project’s Chief Transformation Officer, said: “We’re very pleased to be welcoming people back to Community Conversations as we embark on an exciting chapter for Eden Project Morecambe."

Eden Project Morecambe was given £50m from the government's Levelling Up Fund to help transform the town's seafront.

It will be situated on the central promenade of Morecambe, on the former site of the Bubbles leisure complex, and close to the Grade II* listed Winter Gardens and the Midland Hotel.

Once opened, it is expected to create about 1,400 local jobs and attract almost a million visitors every year.
