A 20-year-old man was kidnapped and assaulted by three men in a Berkshire town.
Thames Valley Police said the victim was forced into a black car on Elgar Road South in Reading at about 20:00 BST on 22 May.
He was released a short time later with minor injuries to his face but he did not require hospital treatment.
Three men, aged 24, 25 and 27, all from Reading were arrested on suspicion of kidnap but have been released on bail and officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
The force added that the 27-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
The black vehicle was in convoy with another black hatchback car.
Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Stuart Streeter said: “I would like to reassure the community that I believe this was a targeted attack and that there is no threat to the wider public.”
