Lorry fire shuts motorway carriageway

The M1 has been closed for fire crews to deal with blaze

A motorway has been partially closed in Northamptonshire following a lorry fire, with drivers warned to expect long delays.

The M1 northbound has been shut between junction 16 for Northampton and junction 18 for Rugby, with congestion to Towcester.

Diversions have been put in place, while emergency services deal with the incident.

Traffic is also reported to be slow southbound as drivers slow down to look at the incident.
