Part of a main road in Ramsey has closed following a suspected gas leak.

The top section of Parliament Street, between Parliament Square and West Street, will remain shut until 14 November to allow for the repair and replacement of gas pipes.

After people recently reported smelling gas in the area, engineers locating a fault on the main pipe on Parliament Street.

Temporary repairs have already been carried out and further works, being undertaken by Isle of Man Energy, will see the excavation of the road surface for a small section of pipe under the junction to be replaced.

During the works, the entrance to Parliament Street will be closed while parking on West Street will be suspended.

Traffic can access the remainder of Parliament Street by West Street, Christian Street and Tower Street.
