Residents have returned to their homes after being evacuated due to the discovery of a grenade in a garden in Derby.

Derbyshire Police said it was called to Carlyle Street, Sinfin, just before 09:00 BST on Wednesday.

Surrounding properties were evacuated, and a 100m (328ft) cordon was put in place while Explosive Ordinance Disposal officers assessed the device, which was found to be "hollow and therefore not live".

Officers have now left the scene.
