Two men have been fined for assaulting and obstructing a speed camera operator.

West Yorkshire Police said James and Richard Duffield had been charged after "interfering with the operator's vehicle and behaving in a threatening manner" during an incident in February 2024 in Bradford.

James Duffield, 23, was found guilty of obstruction while Richard Duffield, 60, was found guilty of obstruction and assaulting an emergency worker.

The force said the men, both of Castle Stead Drive in Cullingworth, were fined a total of more than £1,600 and warned people of the consequences of targeting those operating speed cameras.

Richard Hirst, from the forces' Prosecutions and Casualty Prevention Unit, said: "I hope this case serves as a warning to all that we take these matters seriously and will always seek to prosecute those who behave in an unacceptable way towards our staff."
