Five people have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences following a fire in Cheshire.

Police said they were called to an address on Davenport Avenue in Nantwich at about 21:30 BST on Tuesday.

The fire had been put out on arrival of firefighters, the Cheshire force said.

Three men aged 28, 48 and 51 and two women aged 36 and 50 were arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.

Inquiries into the fire were ongoing, police said, adding all five had been released on bail.
