A busy motorway was partly closed due to a lorry fire.

Traffic was being held on the M1 southbound carriageway between junction 13, near Milton Keynes, and junction 12, near Toddington in Bedfordshire at 18:00 BST.

Emergency services were at the scene working as National Highways put a diversion route in place during the closure.

One lane later reopened as crews continued to work on recovering the lorry at about 21:00.
