The public help desk at Bradford's police headquarters is to stay closed for longer than expected due to "unforeseen circumstances", according to West Yorkshire Police.

The front desk at Trafalgar House in Nelson Street was shut in December at the start of refurbishment work which was expected to last five weeks.

But police said that it would now remain closed until Monday 17 March.

A force spokesperson said that anyone needing to speak to a help desk representative would have to go to Airedale House Police Station in Keighley, while people could also get non-emergency help by calling 101 or by visiting the force's website.

An intercom system on the side of Trafalgar House could also be used by anyone answering bail, they added.
