There are severe delays on the M5 in Gloucestershire, following a collision and an oil spill.

Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway shortly after 11:20 BST to reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Two lanes are closed on the northbound carriageway for emergency barrier repairs between J12 for Quedgeley and J11A for Gloucester. One lane is also shut on the southbound carriageway.

National Highways said there are 90 minutes of delays and eight miles of congestion.

The tailbacks end near J13 for Stroud, and traffic is busy on the A38 through Whitminster, according to traffic monitoring site Inrix.

Elsewhere in the county, train lines are blocked because of flooding at Cheltenham Spa.

Services between Bristol Temple Meads and Worcester Foregate Street via Gloucester and Cheltenham spa are being cancelled, delayed or revised as a result, Great Western Railway said.
