Toddler airlifted to hospital after window fall

A toddler has been taken to hospital for treatment after falling from a second-floor window at his home.

Emergency services were called to Harehill Road in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, at about 11:00 BST on Tuesday.

A 20-month-old boy had fallen from the window and suffered injuries that have since been ruled as neither life-threatening nor life-changing, according to Derbyshire Police.

An air ambulance has taken the child to Sheffield Children's Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.

Police said inquiries were ongoing into the circumstances of the incident.

The force added a police presence would remain in the area throughout the afternoon.
