Man, 38, dies after being found on road

A man has died after he was found on a road in Gloucester.

Gloucestershire Police said the 38-year-old man was discovered on Painswick Road, Matson, at about 00:15 GMT on Sunday by officers en route to another incident.

Despite attempts by paramedics and officers to save him, the man, from Matson, died at the scene and his next of kin have been informed, officers added.

The force said road closures remained at the junction with Heron Way and Norbury Avenue for investigation work.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact the force.
