Two men have been arrested following a crash involving an electric bike and a taxi in Nottingham city centre.

Officers were called at about 01:30 BST on Sunday, after the crash on Hounds Gate.

A screwdriver was recovered near the scene, and a police cordon has been put in place while initial investigations are carried out, Nottinghamshire Police said.

An 18-year-old and a 24-year-old were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and possession of an offensive weapon.

Insp Andy Wright said: "We believe a number of witnesses may have seen what happened and are urging them to get in touch.

"Likewise, if anyone has any dashcam footage which could assist, please contact us."
