A person has been taken to hospital with a serious head injury after a single car crash closed a major road.
Emergency services were called to the A143 at Barnardiston near Haverhill, Suffolk, at 07:34 BST after reports of a collision.
One person was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, by land ambulance. An air ambulance and fire crews were also at the scene.
Suffolk Police advised road users to find alternative routes and said that diversions were in place "but local roads are very busy".
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "An ambulance, ambulance officer vehicle and a response car from the East Anglian Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
"An adult man, who had sustained a serious head injury, was transported by road to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for further assessment and treatment."
