A black Kia Niro and a grey Peugeot 107 collided on the A37 near Maiden Newton, north of Dorchester, at 17:30 BST on Wednesday.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 49-year-old woman from Weymouth, died at the scene.

The road was closed to allow emergency services to respond and for investigation work.
