A man suffered cuts to his head and his dog was thrown into a bush in what the police believe was a racially motivated assault.

A man in his 60s and his dog were attacked between 18:20 BST and 18:30 on 24 August between the wooded area of Cumberland Avenue and the Marham Park estate, in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

Suffolk Police said officers wanted to talk to two men who were seen riding bicycles in the area with a young child at the time.

The two men were seen cycling off via Cumberland Avenue towards Severn Road after the incident, officers added.
