Three people have been taken to hospital after a five-vehicle crash in Londonderry.

The collision happened on the Buncrana Road in Derry just after 09:00 GMT on Wednesday morning.

It is understood the people taken to hospital are being treated for minor injuries.

The road was closed by police as the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) and Northern Ireland Fire Rescue Service (NIFRS) attended the scene.

"Three people were taken taken to Altnagelvin hospital by ambulance," a NIAS spokesperson said.

In a statement, Translink said that all Foyle Metro 11 bus services to Clon Elagh will operate via the Northland Road and Foyle Metro 12a services will be running late until the road has been cleared.
