The pub on the outskirts of Bristol will now be allowed to hold events for up to 8,000 people

A pub that regularly hosts family-friendly events has been given permission to expand its maximum capacity from 6,000 to 8,000 people.
Almondsbury Creative, located off Gloucester Road near the M5, uses its large field for festivals, firework displays and other events.
South Gloucestershire Council has agreed to allow it to host larger events, although the pub's landlord, Garth Jackson, said 8,000 was a "maximum theoretical number" and would not happen regularly.
"When we set up our events, we really consider the local houses," he added. Two people had objected to the application, raising concerns about noise and parking.
Writing to the council, one resident said: "I had reason to complain about noise and the booming bass from the Halloween event. Then there is the issue of numbers - the resulting problem is parking and the danger of crossing the A38."
In response, Mr Jackson said: "We make sure that the speakers are pointed towards the motorway, so it's a buffer, and then there's about a mile before you get to residential [areas].
"We've run these events for a long time, and we work really closely with the local authorities. In terms of traffic control, we have lots of marshals out on the road."

The pub said it would not host the maximum number of people "regularly" and no events of that size had been planned.
The new licence also allows boxing and wrestling matches to be staged, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
Almondsbury Creative was named runner-up in the Community Hero category of the 2025 Great British Pub Awards, winning £1,000 which it donated to the Grand Appeal, the charity of the Bristol Children's Hospital
