City centre road to partially close to traffic

A major road in the centre of Bradford is set to partially close to allow for regeneration works to take place.
The westbound carriageway of Hall Ings will be shut from Monday 19 February.
A chunk of the road will be converted into an expanded pedestrianised space, as part of a city centre revamp ahead of Bradford becoming UK City of Culture in 2025.
Bradford Council has warned that delays to city centre journeys were "inevitable" as a result of the works.
The local authority said the closure would prevent westbound traffic travelling from Drake Street to Jacobs Well.
Eastbound traffic will still be able to use Hall Ings temporarily, ahead of the planned full closure of the road to all vehicles to create the space for the expanded Norfolk Gardens.
The scheme is due to be completed by the end of this year.
Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, the authority's executive member for regeneration, planning and transport, said: "While the scale of construction works means that delays to journeys through the city centre are inevitable, particularly at peak times, the end result will be worth it and will benefit us and future generations for many years to come.
"I’d like to thank people for their patience while this work takes place."
