Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC has two new Loch Ness Monster-inspired mascots - Nessie and Nessa.

The Highland club's new owner Alan Savage had previously spoken about a mascot revamp as part of plans to forge closer ties with fans and the wider community.

Previously, Caley Thistle had Lionel Nessie, who made his "debut" at a cup final in 2018, external.

The club said Nessie and Nessa would play a bigger role in its community engagement and on match days.

Commercial director Andrew Benjamin said: "We're thrilled to welcome Nessie and Nessa to the Caley Jags family.

"They're more than just mascots - they represent the spirit of the Highlands and our commitment to making football a fun, inclusive, and memorable experience for all generations of supporters.

"We can't wait for fans to meet them at the stadium and across the community."

Earlier this month, Inverness exited administration after agreements were reached with its creditors.

Mr Savage also gained 100% control of the Scottish League One club.

Caley Jags got into difficulty last year after running up large debts, including £3.5m in loans, and joint administrators BDO was appointed in October last year to oversee its finances.

Mr Savage said he believed Inverness had a bright future and suggested extra revenue could be generated through hosting music events, and building a petrol station at the stadium.
