Driver arrested after fatal four-vehicle A605 crash

A 38-year-old man has been arrested following a fatal crash involving a lorry, a van and two cars.

It happened on the A605 at Thorpe Waterville, near Thrapston, on Monday.

Northamptonshire Police said the van driver - a man in his 40s - died at the scene.

The man who was arrested is from Northampton and is being questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police said the crash happened at about 09:00 BST, external and involved a black Ford Fiesta, a blue Volvo lorry, a white Ford Edge Sport and a white Ford Transit van.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said the A605 would have been busy at the time, and they want to hear from anyone who may have relevant dash cam footage.
