Two men accused of murdering a 56-year-old man in North Yorkshire have made their first appearance at crown court.

Paul Tillet was pronounced dead at a flat in Strawberry Dale, Harrogate, after police were called to the scene at 23:00 BST on Sunday.

Jason Johnson, 26, of no fixed address, and Philip Watson, 34, of Bower Street, Harrogate, appeared at Leeds Crown Court earlier.

They were remanded in custody to appear again for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 1 November.

Mr Tillet's family had previously described him as a "much-loved son, dad, brother and uncle" who would be "truly missed".
