Join the new BBC Scotland News WhatsApp channel

BBC Scotland News has launched a new WhatsApp channel to bring you the best of our big talking points from across the country.
We’ll be posting a selection of three to four of the latest stories every day - ranging from breaking news and explainers to surprising stories, must see pictures, and updates on entertainment, sport and weather.
How do I find the channel?
You can subscribe to our channel from your mobile phone or on WhatsApp web to get the pick of what’s happening every day.
Updates appear in the channel feed tab and you can even choose to get notifications whenever there’s something new to see.

Or you can follow by searching from your home screen in WhatsApp on your phone.
Click the "Updates" button at the bottom of the screen, search for BBC Scotland News, and click the follow button alongside our channel to subscribe.
How can I get notifications?
Notifications for our channel are turned off by default, but they can be turned on.
On the BBC Scotland News WhatsApp channel click the bell icon in the top right of the screen - this will then send you an alert for new stories whenever they are posted.
