A stretch of motorway in the West Midlands has reopened after it was closed for more than an hour following a police incident.
The M5 was shut in both directions at about 12:40 GMT between junction one for West Bromwich and the M6 interchange.
Severe delays and stationary traffic were reported, with southbound congestion stretching back to junction 10a for the M54 interchange.
Northbound queues were reported on the M6 back to junction six for Spaghetti Junction.
Routes around Wednesbury and Park Lane towards Handsworth were also congested as motorists sought alternatives.
All lanes were reopened at about 13:55.
