A video of a Midlands choir singing Fairytale of New York has gone viral after being posted on social media.

The i-Sing Choir performed at Webbs Wychbold garden centre in Droitwich on Saturday, with the video now surpassing two million views.

Shoppers were treated to a rendition of the Pogues’ iconic Christmas song, performed by 130 members of the choir.

They sang three times during the day, at different locations around the garden centre.

One of the choir members, Sue Weston, even posed as a store cleaner before breaking into song as part of the flash mob.

During the video, the choir members can be seen donning Christmas hats and gathering around one of the garden centre’ festive displays.

The choir’s founder, Helen Jones, said it was nice to be able to do something to brighten people’s day.

“We’re in the middle of a horrible time financially, and I thought it would be nice to spread a little joy,” she said.

“We took 130 people along, and they did three flash mobs throughout the day.”

In total the choir has about 500 members, spanning from age 16 to 83.
