New school bus times in bid to improve punctuality

Changes include earlier start and later departure times, and a new after school service

Changes have been made to some bus services in Telford to support school children.
The changes on Travel Telford services, called Rise and Ride, start on Sunday, and come as a result of passenger feedback, the local authority said.
They include earlier start and later departure times, and a service to help pupils get home after clubs and other commitments.
Telford and Wrekin Council said the alterations would ensure travel was better aligned with school start and finish times, and improve punctuality.
Timetable changes are:
Route 99: The Hadley Learning Community afternoon bus will leave later, at 15:10 GMT
Route 100: The morning bus will leave 11 minutes earlier, at 07:30
Route 101: The morning bus will leave nine minutes earlier, at 07:36, while the afternoon bus will depart five minutes later, at 15:35 from the hospital, and 15:39 from Charlton School
Route 103: A new 17:00 weekday bus will run between Burton Borough and Tibberton, to help pupils get home after clubs and college
"Rise and ride, earlier buses mean less drama, and that's exactly what these changes deliver," said councillor Ollie Vickers, cabinet member for the economy and transport.
"We're committed to helping young people get to school safely, on time, and with less stress.
"These improvements reflect what families have told us matters most, and we'll keep listening and adapting to make our services even better."
