Equipment worth £50,000 has been stolen from an Aberdeenshire Council depot in Inverurie.

Items, including a mini digger and two trailers, were taken from the town's Harlaw Road overnight from Friday into Saturday.

Tools and a generator were also stolen.

Police Scotland, appealing for any information, external and dashcam footage, said it was believed a green Jaguar X-Type car - which was later found burned out in Meikle Wartle - and a blue Transit van were used to carry out the theft.
