A man who spied on people as they undressed at a holiday resort has been jailed.

Mark Simpson, 51, of Wallsend, North Tyneside, pleaded guilty to two charges of voyeurism after recording people getting changed at Butlin's, Skegness, on 30 occasions.

Simpson also admitted possession of a prohibited image of a child, taking an indecent image of a child, two charges of distributing indecent images and nine charges of making indecent images.

He appeared at Newcastle Crown Court for sentencing on Monday and was jailed for three years.

The 15 charges relate to dozens of incidents from 2017 to 2023, Lincolnshire Police said.

The force said 34 individual incidents of voyeurism took place, 30 at Butlin's changing rooms and four at a separate location.

Simpson was caught in April 2023 after a man reported his wife had been spied on.

Multiple videos of voyeurism were found on Simpson's phone, as well as videos containing indecent images of children.

A hidden folder was also discovered, which had an app showing chat logs where he had exchanged indecent and prohibited images of children.

PC Andy Taylor, who led the case, said: "This sentence aims to provide justice for the victims whose privacy and personal space were violated."

He added: "I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone involved in this process, to reach this positive outcome today."
