Key road closed due to burst water main

Workers are on a road where a water main has burst, which is closed in both directions. There are two people in high-visibility overalls - one inside a digger and the other standing over the hole they are working on. Behind them is a barrier to the road, and houses.

A key road taking drivers in and out of Swindon has been closed because of a burst water main.

The A3102 Wootton Bassett Road, near Westcott Recreation Ground, is shut in both directions.

Officers from Wiltshire Police asked drivers to find alternative routes and allow extra time for journeys.

Thames Water apologised to those affected and said workers on site had completed the repair and were working to re-open the road as soon as possible.
