A man has been jailed for 16 years for historical offences, after admitting he groomed a young boy and sexually abused him.
Colin Hall, 79, from Birmingham, pleaded guilty to seven counts of indecent assault between 1984 and 1988 at Birmingham Crown Court.
Hall started buying the boy gifts and alcohol and after about a year he was subjected to sexual encounters, West Midlands Police said.
Hall's victim, who came forward in 2018, was abused for about four years, police said.
Det Con Donna Kenny said: "Hall groomed a young boy and led him to believe they were friends, building up a strong rapport with him before manipulating him and subjecting him to several incidents of sexual abuse.
"The survivor involved in this case showed immense bravery to speak up about the offences Hall committed."
