Voting has begun in a by-election to fill a vacant seat in the south ward of Ramsey Town Commissioners.

The contest was triggered following the death of long-serving politician Leonard Singer in December last year.

Four candidates are vying for the seat - Joe Callister, Sandra Cottam-Shea, Pauline Johns-Garrett and Sara Kennedy-Hay.

The polling station at Ramsey Town Hall on Parliament Street will remain open until 20:00 GMT.

The local authority's board is made up of 12 commissioners, divided into two six-seat wards representing the northern and southern parts of the town.
