A football fan who travelled from Suffolk to Germany to watch an England match said the atmosphere was "unbelievable".

Karim Goodchild from Ipswich, Suffolk, was in Düsseldorf as he watched England win against Switzerland on Saturday in the quarter finals of the Euros 2024.

He has already got his ticket to see England play in the semi-finals.

He said: "It was just unbelievable... it was one of the best performances so far this tournament."

After the win he said it was "party mad" and no-one got "a lot of sleep".

He said: "I just keep thinking we'll get knocked out, it's been a great tournament so far, play wise and quality wise.

"Gareth Southgate and the team just keep throwing out these scrappy wins, they seem some how, to do it."

England will play the Netherlands in the semi-finals of the tournament after beating Switzerland in a penalty shoot out 5-3.

Penalties from Cole Palmer, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, Ivan Toney and Trent Alexander-Arnold secured the team's win.

The match will take place in Dortmund on Wednesday at 20:00 BST.

Mr Goodchild said that he has "a lot of work to do" when he gets back to the UK.

"I'm already out in Germany at the moment, I've been out here for the month so far - I wasn't expecting to be."
