Nia Griffith appointed Wales Office minister

Llanelli MP Dame Nia Griffith has been appointed as the new Wales Office minister in Sir Keir Starmer's Labour government.
She replaces former Conservative Brecon and Radnorshire MP Fay Jones, who lost her seat in last week's election as part of a Tory wipeout in Wales.
It is the first government role for Dame Nia, who was first elected in 2005 and has previously held Labour front bench roles that included shadow Welsh secretary and shadow defence secretary.
Cardiff East MP Jo Stevens became the Welsh secretary on Friday, when Sir Keir announced his cabinet.
Pontypridd MP Alex Davies-Jones also joins the Ministry of Justice as a minister and former Delyn MP David Hanson becomes a Home Office minister.
Sir David, who will sit in the House of Lords, previously served as a minister under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
Four Welsh MPs are in the team in charge of party discipline, to ensure Labour MPs back government business in House of Commons votes.
Alyn and Deeside MP Mark Tami is government deputy chief whip, Bridgend MP Chris Elmore a whip and Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare MP Gerald Jones and Cardiff North MP Anna McMorrin join the government as assistant whips.
