A public art trail featuring 40 colourful penguin sculptures, has been launched in Worcester in aid of charity.

The large models will line the streets alongside 40 smaller chicks for the next eight weeks.

Each of the Waddle of Worcester penguins has been designed by artists or local schools and sponsored by businesses.

After the trail ends on 15 September, they will be auctioned off in aid of St Richard's Hospice.

Previous art trails involving elephants and giraffes have collectively raised more than £700,000 for the charity.

Passers-by told BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester that the colourful sculptures "brightened up" the city centre.

The trail, approximately five miles long, will take about two to three hours to complete, organisers said.

St Richard's Hospice said more than 340 designs were submitted before 100 were shortlisted.
