A climber suffered back injuries in a 10m (33ft) fall at a beauty spot in the Peak District.

Edale Mountain Rescue Team said it was called to the Flying Buttress area of Stanage Edge at about 14:20 GMT on Saturday.

The climber suffered a lower back injury with moderate pain levels and although he had banged his head in the fall, his helmet offered protection, the team said.

He was put in a full body splint and taken to Sheffield Northern General Hospital for treatment.
