Murder arrest after woman stabbed at home

A woman was fatally stabbed at a home on Park Meadow Avenue in Wolverhampton, police have said

A man has been arrested after a woman was fatally stabbed in Wolverhampton.

Police were called by paramedics after reports were recieved a woman had been stabbed at an address on Park Meadow Avenue, just before 07:00 GMT.

The woman, in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The victim's family was being supported by officers, West Midlands Police said.

"At this stage we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death," a spokesman added.

"Officers remain at the scene today carrying out enquiries and a post-mortem will be held to establish the cause of death."
