Woman killed and man injured in Highlands A9 crash

A woman has died following a three-vehicle crash on the A9 in the Highlands.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision just north of the Tore roundabout at about 08:55 on Tuesday.
The crash involved a black Mini Cooper, a white Toyota Hilux and a red Renault Clio.
A 59-year-old woman, the driver of the Mini, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Toyato Hilux, a 39-year-old man, was arrested and subsequently released pending further inquiries.
He was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where staff described his condition as serious but stable.
The Renault Clio driver, a 30-year-old man, was uninjured.
The road was closed for more than six hours and reopened at about 15:30.
Sgt Neil MacDonald said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died at this very difficult time."
